DIY Altoid Tin/Scrabble Tile Magnet Set
Have you ever wondered what could be done with those Altoid or mint tins you have laying around? Well here is an idea for you. This is a great gift for kids to make for their teachers or even for their friends. Its a fairly easy project. And if you have a lot of Scrabble tiles you can make some great words or sayings.
Supplies:
~Scrabble Tiles
~Magnets(round work best)
~Hot Glue Gun
~Altoid/Mint tin
~Paper
~Spray adhesive
~Ribbons
1. Take your magnets and hot glue them to your scrabble tiles.
2. Cut a piece of paper to fit inside the tin lid & bottom. Using spray adhesive, spray the tin and fit your paper in.
3. Using your spray adhesive, spray on the top of the tin and attach the paper decorations of your choice.
I used a gift label and attached ribbons and scrap material to it to make it pretty. This was a fairly quick project.
Enjoy!

DIY – 5 Minute Napkin Wine Bag
This is so simple and fast, under 5 minutes. You can use this for your wine or sparkling cider.
Great way to wrap up the gift of drink this Christmas!
Supplies: Ribbon and Cloth Napkin(I find single cloth napkins at the thrift stores for pennies)
1. Fold the napkin in half, right sides together. 2. Pin the ribbon onto the side, making sure to have the ribbon ends on the inside of the bag. 3. Sew all the way down the bag and around the bottom, leaving the top open.
And there you have it! Super easy and super cheap!
You can stop there or you can take it a step further and use some chalk board paint and do what I did below.
Use a template, oval would be better, but I didn’t have one.
Using chalkboard paint, paint in the template of choice.
Let dry and its ready to write on.

12 Days of DIY Christmas ~ Day 11 ~ Ruffle Note Cards
I had so much fun making these. I love sending letters, so its great when I have fun note cards like these to send. And the best part is that they did not take a lot of time or talent, super easy and super cute!
Supplies:
~Coordinating Fabric
~Sewing Machine
~Note Cards and Envelopes
~Scissors
1. Cut 2 strips of fabric double the length of your note card, one 2″ width and one 6″ width.
2. Gather your 6″ width fabric on top of your note card and then gather the 2″ width piece on top of that.
3. Sew straight down the middle using a zig zag stitch. Don’t forget to back stitch at the beginning and end. Holding it in place while sewing can be tough.
Bundle them in sets of 4 and you have a great little gift to give along with some of these or these.
Enjoy!

12 Days of DIY Christmas ~ Day 7 ~ Playing Cards Garland
I love this idea and how awesome is this that most people have a deck or two that are missing cards and no longer get play time. This was first seen at Anthropologie and it is so easy to make that I thought I should share this with all of you. Great garland for trees, fireplaces and anywhere you want to hang this.
Supplies:
~Playing Cards (2 decks in two different colors)
~Sewing Machine
~Scissors (Large Circle punch, in which case you wouldn’t need the pen or glass)
~Pen
~Glass (or circle stencil)
1. Trace your circle onto your card.
2. Cut each circle out of the playing cards. It would be much easier if you had a large circle punch.
3. Sew the cards together using a straight stitch, until all cards are used.
4. Hang it up (I can’t to use this on my tree).
and
Enjoy!

Upcycled T-Shirt into St Patrick’s Day Underwear
I talked about this before, right here, but I never actually did it, now that I have done it(and a pretty crappy job at that), I want to try again. I actually think I could make a cute swim suit out of a t-shirt. I also have figured out easier ways to do it, which seems to happen when you make something for the first time. The second time always brings about changes to how I did it the first time.
I used this cute earth t-shirt that said ‘Think Green’ with the earth on the bottom and a clover on the top. A clover and an upside down think makes for a cute pair of St Patrick’s Day panties, don’t you think?
The next pair I make I will have instructions and photos to go along with them.

Happy New Year!

My family and I are going away for a much needed break this weekend and hopefully going to get our fill of the beautiful white stuff that falls from the sky. Thank you all for coming out and visiting Recycled Lovelies this year. I hope the new year brings you much happiness, joy and peace and I pray this last year leaves without worry or consequence!
Much Love ~

DIY Recycled New Years Party Poppers
If you are like me, you probably have a bunch of wrapping paper from Christmas that you watched people unwrap and grabbed when they weren’t looking. It always gets me when I see someone unwrap a gift and wad up the paper and throw it away when it barely had any creases or tape marks in it. So yes, I pulled some silver wrapping paper out of the burn pile that I thought would be great to use for New Years Poppers.
This year we are spending New Years at a friends rental house in Sunriver. It will just be our family of 4 and we are so looking forward to this time away, where there will hopefully be snow. I decided to make these poppers for us and include some fun things in them.
These are super easy to make, even the kids can do them.
Supplies Needed:
- Toilet Paper Rolls
- Wrapping Paper(preferably recycled)
- Ribbon(recycled from presents)
- Tape
- Scissors
- Confetti, Metallic Shred(I had this left over from a wedding shower), Goodies, Candy, New Years Fortune(this can be a fun one, making up your own fortunes), etc..

Silver is perfect for New Years.

1. Tape the wrapping paper to the toilet paper tube.

2. Using ribbon, tie a bow at the end of the tube.

3. Fill the other end with all your little goodies along with your confetti or metallic shred(like I used).

4. Using ribbon, tie another bow at the other end and you are finished.
