I was worried at first because the kind I found at the goodwill were with tassels, but fortunately when you take the tassel off they are just plain tiebacks. So lets get started.

You will need two curtain tiebacks and ribbon.

1. If your tiebacks have tassels, take them off. If not skip this step.

2. Loop them together like this.

3. Knot together, pull tight.

4. Using ribbon of your choice, pull it through the 4 loops and tie in a bow.

Super easy and super cute. Check out love Meagan's two tone version here.

I had a dress that I had already taken off the sash for a necklace last week and figured the straps would be perfect for this necklace since they had the length adjustments on them.

Here is what I did:

Sew the two straps together, making sure each piece is laying with the bra adjusters the same way.

Cut a piece of material in the length and width you want your bow. Fold one end in and then the other end in, slightly on top of each other. Mine is a bit smaller than the one from Urban Outfitters. Lay the sewn strap on top of the bow, which will be laid on top of a small piece of fabric to tie around both. You can make yours more like the Urban Outfitter one by making your bow bigger so that it hangs lower.

Tie the small piece around the bow and strap securing them both. Now using your scissors, cut the tied part down so that its not seen from the front when wearing this.

This is what its like when its shorter, like a men's bowtie.

This is what its like when its longer.

I finished another recycled necklace. If you have ever worked with jewelry you know that you have to have the right tools to take apart or add to jewelry, believe me I tried with regular pliers and it did not work. So I bought a five piece set of small jewelry pliers that have been so nice to work with and made this process of jewelry making so much easier.

Here is my latest necklace. This one I used a satin bow from a ballet dress I found at the goodwill, and all the necklaces were re-purposed and put together from old jewelry I bought in a lot from the thrift store.

The little jewels I used at the top are actually earrings that I poked through and bent the posts to cover where I sewed the satin ribbon on. I love how it turned out and I wore this last night and it was totally comfortable.

I have been enjoying taking apart jewelry and putting together different necklaces and beads that you wouldn't think necessarily go together but when put together they look amazing.

Here is one of my 100% recycled necklaces that I recently finished. I took apart a belt for the metal rings, used two necklaces after I took the clasps off, and then I cut off the two ties from a dress that no longer fits. Combining those made this necklace.

My daughter is going off to college in August and to get her ready I have been thinking of things that she will need. Well the number one thing I thought of was a laundry bag, so she has something to bring all those dirty clothes home from college for me to wash.

I found a pattern in the Sew it All magazine and used it as a guide. I always change patterns, its some odd habit I have of making things just a little bit of my own and probably a bit of that 'I-don't-want-to-do-what-you-say' kind of thing too. Im a bit of a rebel when it comes to sewing.

All the material I used was found at the goodwill. I found about 3 yards of this material and its super thick too, perfect for a laundry bag. I used a belt I found at the thrift store instead of a ribbon. I also cut a doily in half for the front pocket. I serged over the rough edge of the doily to make it look pretty. If you don't have a serger you can fold over the edge and sew for a clean edge.

Here are a couple easy DIY patterns for you to try:

DIY dorm laundry bag

Make your own fabric laundry bag

Or you can check out Sew It All March issue at your local library for the pattern I used.

Also for a simple and quick(but a little small) laundry bag you can use a pillow case.

Have fun!

I had seen this doodle on Wicked & Weird and told Lisa I would be copying it for my nephews future baby. I love elephants and so this little elephant doodle was perfect. Thanks Lisa, you are very talented!

Here is Lisa's elephant doodle -

Here is my version -

This was pretty easy, although mine does not compare to Lisa's.

Try some canvas art for yourself. The canvas is 16X20 and was super cheap at our local Michael's store.

Have fun and create something unique!

1. Make a flower, using the tutorials here or here.
