Felt Christmas Tree Ornament Tutorial

Yesterday I showed you a felt Christmas tree that I made, so today I want to give you some instructions so you can make one yourself. They are so cute, I just think a forest of felt Christmas trees would look great on the mantel.

Supplies Needed:

  • Glue Gun
  • Needle & Thread (optional)
  • Sewing Machine (optional if using needle and thread)
  • Old Used Spools
  • Felt (vintage would be best)
  • Twigs
  • Buttons, Beads & Bows
  • Decorated Paper (music sheets, page from a vintage book, etc..)
  • Mod Podge or White Glue
  • Scissors

Cut out your Christmas tree shape from the felt.

Sew together the Christmas tree, leaving an opening at the base for the stuffing and twig.

Turn right side out and glue the buttons, beads on. You can also use needle & thread to sew on the decorations.

Cut out paper to fit around the spool and a round piece for the top of the spool. Mod Podge into place.

Hot glue the twig into the hole in the spool. Then attach the tree to the twig with hot glue.

You can tie a bow around the base of the tree or at the bottom above the spool.

Make a few and set them up in a group on your mantel.
