DIY Christmas Gifts Day 6 – Easy Stocking

My daughter came to me the other day and said “This is Delilahs second Christmas and she still doesn’t have a stocking, please can we make her one”. Delilah is our very large mammoth of a dog, St. Bernard. She is a ‘ton’ of fun and a ‘big’ part of our family. And of course she needs a stocking. I decided we would do it the simple quick way, which took about 5 minutes total to make.

Materials needed:

  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Fabric
  • Fabric puffy paint(optional)

I took my daughters stocking and traced around it, flipped it over and traced the other side.

Sew the right sides together, using pinking shears cut around the stocking.

Turn right side out, trim the top with pinking shears, and fold over.

Using puffy fabric paint, write the name on the part that is folded over(this step is optional).

I think Delilah likes her stocking, ok maybe she has no clue but she will love what we fill it with.

These super easy and super quick stockings would be a great alternative to wrapping paper, just stick a few gifts in the stocking and write the name of the recipient on the stocking.
