DIY Christmas Gifts Day 5 – Easy Apron
This apron is super easy! I used this vintage material from the 60's that I found at the Goodwill and I absolutely love how they look together.
Here is what you need:
- Iron/Ironing Board
- Sewing Machine
- Thread
- 31" X 23" Piece of fabric for the main apron piece
- 36" X 10.5" Piece of fabric for the top and ties
- Scissors

The vintage fabric that I used.

Cut the 36"X 10.5" piece of fabric into 3 equal parts length wise. They should come out about 3.5" wide by 36".

Iron the strips in half and turn the raw edges in 1/4" on each side so they match up.
Take the main apron piece and make a running loose stitch across the top so that it can gather, making sure NOT to backstitch at the beginning and end. Pull the strings at each end until you get the gather that you like. Place one of the fabric strips on top of the gather, pin and sew.

Pin the ties to the inside of the top fabric piece and sew along the side and then along the tie and when you get to the end fold the end in and sew at an angle.

The finished apron with the pointed ties.

Finished!
