Chalkboard Paint Window How-To

Enough with the chalkboard paint you’re probably thinking, but every time I turn around I see something else I could do. And so it goes, another chalkboard paint project, but this is totally easy, as they all have been, at least for me. As I was painting this over the sink, my dh looks over at me and says “are you going to paint everything with chalkboard paint?”, which then made me laugh when I looked around and saw how many things I had already painted with chalkboard paint. I have not shared all my chalkboard painting stories with you, as some are not worthy but this one totally is.

My parents got new windows last year in their 1920′s house that I grew up in and they took out almost all of the beautiful old windows cause it was losing so much heat and not energy efficient at all. It was sad to see those windows go but lucky for me, I got to take as many as I wanted home. I still have a few in the garage waiting for me to think up some great way to use them, here is one way you can display an old window in your house.

you can write whatever you like, welcome or happy halloween works too

Here is what you need:

  • An Old Window
  • Chalkboard Paint
  • Chalk

And here is what I did:

Paint the windows with chalkboard paint, make sure and let the first coat dry before painting the second coat. Let dry 24 hours and there you go…its ready to display.
