I saw this tutorial on My Longest Year – Basic Booty Bag(isn't that a great title?) and decided to try this with a pair of corduroy pants that didn't fit me. I probably shouldn't have started it so late in the night, as my poor hubby is asleep on the couch, but once I get something in my mind…. well that's another story.

Anyhow I thought the color and stitching of those pants would be perfect for a bag. I just followed the instructions on her tutorial and was so impressed with how easy it was(something must be wrong if things are getting easy for me, maybe its the late hour). The only problem was that after looking at it I found that it was missing something. A few weeks back I remembered looking at these fabric flowers on My Mama Made It and figured that's just what the front pocket needed. I actually had already started making one a while back and never finished it, so I quickly grabbed my needle and thread and finished it up. I love how it adds such dimension to the bag.

And in my best impression of my father – Aint it a beaut! Yes he really said that, mostly about cars, tractors, or the occasional cow but none-the-less he said it and if he was here today, he would have said it about my bag, just cuz that's what dads do.

I love it! What a throwback…My Granny made one of these bags for me when I was young and used a bandana as the belt! So cute…I still have it actually :)

That's so awesome, I would love to see a picture of the one your granny made! I never thought about putting something around the belt part, so clever. Thanks.
