Closet Makeover Help
A while back I mentioned how my closet door was broke and how my dh hasn't had enough time to fix it. Well I figured I am a pretty intelligent woman, I can handle the task, right? So with all that confidence I decided to go for it! And this is what I found after I took the door down, the bottom screw that holds the door up off the floor has gone clear through the hole with no way to fix it. Well with no way that I could fix it easily.
While I was laying in bed this morning I thought (and dreamt, because I was in and out of sleep) about what I could do instead of having doors there. Here are some ideas I came up with it. Still thinking about it though, so any suggestions you may have would be of great help.

I like the idea of patching pieces of fabric together, I could use up a lot of my scraps. Courtesy of samlamb

I like how tall these are and that they go beyond the closet area, making it easier get into the closet. Courtesy of habitatgirl.
What do you think? Give me some ideas, more pictures, anything… I really need some help!

Ooooooo the third one is my favorite! I love the height and width of the curtains. What a fabulous idea! I love the vertical stripes and light color as well. They make it more open and airy feeling. Another idea would be to get a screen, like the one in the same pic. That might be a little difficult to get in and out of though. But with the right screen, magic can happen.
I think that's my favorite too. I like that it goes to the ceiling and past the doors so that you can push the curtain aside and its not in your way when rummaging through the closet. Thanks Evan.
I'm so glad you posted this! We have a similar situation in our Master and I've been trying to decide what to do. Hanging the curtain rod above the closet as in your third picture is so attractive. For our room, it would simulate the other curtain rods we have up for our windows. Now I want to go find some fabric! Any suggestions on alternative places to look?
Jenn – You would be surprised at how much fabric the Goodwill actually has. They also have some amazing curtains or sheets that can be turned into curtains. JoAnn Fabric has some good deals too.
