Turn a Men's Button Down Shirt into a Pencil Skirt Tutorial

I said I would do it and I did! I made this cute pencil skirt from one of my dad's button down shirts. I had originally thought I would make a dress from my dads shirts but this seemed more my style. It really turned out great. I followed the directions from Megan Nielsen. Here is the downloadable tutorial. It was super easy, super quick and super cute. Try one for yourself. I want to try this again with a shirt that has front pockets, it would add so much to a pencil skirt. Or maybe even adding little loops for a belt. There are so many options.

I decided to leave the hem as it was on the shirt so it goes up a little on the sides.

Not a great photo but I wanted you to see how it looks as a whole outfit.

Genius! And as soon as the telephone company is done fixing my phone line I am out the door to the thrift store to find a man's button down.

Attention! If your dad wants to get back his shirt, he has to wear it as a skirt!

Well I don't think my dad will be wanting his shirt back, he passed away last Christmas. But true for those who use their dad's shirt, you might want to make sure your dad doesn't ever want it back :)
