Clothing Swap Help

So I don’t know how hard this will be to put together but I want to do a clothing swap. I think it would be fun. I have talked about it before and never done anything to get one going.

eHow has some helpful instructions on How to Organize a Clothing Swap.

But here are a few of my dilemma’s,

My house is tiny – I don’t know how I would fit a group of friends and their clothes in my house for a swap.

I have friends of all shapes and sizes – How do I get enough clothes to swap with all my friends sizes?

And how do I get all of my friends to come and get them to understand that it will be a fun night. I know some of them don’t like to buy thrifted clothes so I dont know how well this would work for them.

Do you have any tips or ideas for me?

Please leave your helpful ideas or tips for making this clothing swap a success in the comments below.

Hi! What a fabulous idea! I love the idea of a clothes swap. How about doing an online clothes swap? Get a few bloggers with a similar love for thrift, and organize it over a month or so. You’re assigned a blogger that is in the swap, get to know their style by checking their blog. If you aren’t similarly sized you could go purposely thrift an item for them. Maybe extend from clothing to include accessories. I’m happy to help if you fancy doing it!

Thanks Cassie! It sounds like a great idea. Yeah I would love to hear more about how a online clothes swap would work. Another idea my friend and I had was to do an accessories swap. That way any friend, of any shape and size could be involved.

I love the idea of a clothing swap. When I returned from Austin last week, Bree filled my suitcase with clothes for a garage sale or consignment shop. I bet this idea would be great for high school gals ,too especially if they go to different school. Perhaps youth group at church would help connect several girls to participate.

I think you should just ask a friend whose house might work (I volunteer) pick a day, word of mouth, a few phone calls, and see if you can get 10 or 12 people to commit, plus some high schoolers, and hey, you gotta swap meet.
