Rice Pillow Tutorial
Over at Greenglancy.com I found this list of 10 Homemade Valentines. Number 8 was a tutorial on how to make a rice pillow. The tutorial is from Wise Craft, Make a rice pillow for your Valentine.
My husband used one of these rice pillows at a friends house and loved it, as his neck is often sore. So I was excited when I saw this tutorial because it is the perfect gift for my hubby for Valentines Day.
Last night I made some effort to get this done and made him a rice pillow. I like how it turned out. Being not a very good surprise keeper, I showed it to him right away. He used it and loved it, so much that he was asking me where it was this morning, so he could use it while doing his homework.
For the complete tutorial click here. Below are photos of the one I made. Its bit fuller/shorter than the one in the tutorial because my hubby didn’t like how our friends rice in her rice pillow sagged to the sides when placed on the neck. He likes the warmth to stay in the middle of his neck. And yes all the material is recycled. I found this stuff at the Goodwill a while back. The only thing I bought was the rice, which I purchased cheap rice and had a $1 off coupon, making this very inexpensive to make.
