Out of the Blue: Fall Color Guide 2008
Yes we are smack in the middle of Fall but its never too late to start adding some of these warm, bright, fall colors into your wardrobe. If the colors are too much for you, start out small and just wear these colors as accessories.
Purple – It’s a rich, strong hue that will look good accessorized with black, green, or yellow. If a purple dress is too much purple for you, try a purple blouse paired with a black skirt or pants.
Yellow – Yellow can be a lot of color to wear, and the fact that few people feel good wearing it anywhere near
their face would encourage me to suggest a yellow handbag, a bracelet or a belt color, or maybe a fun pair of ballerina flats for early fall. You will probably get the most mileage from this color if you relegate it as an accessory shade.
Chocolate – The nice thing about this color is that, its being a more understated neutral shade makes it easy to be worn as a pant or suit color. This color works well with grays, camels, blacks and many pop colors like teal, bright greens, pinks and even soft blues.
Black – To wear black well, you must look good in black. If black doesn’t flatter you, don’t wear it against your face.
Gray – Warmer grays resemble muddy olives, so if you think gray is too drab or stark for you, consider this
direction. What makes gray look fresh this season is how it is often partnered with warmer tones like camel, tobacco and brown, or bright colors like purple and green.
Green – Find green in checks and plaids, florals, and ombres this season.
